Meet Sue Quam
I am Sue Quam, a dedicated leader with four years on the Laguna Woods Village United Board, advocating for 9,000 residents. With 30 years of government experience and a Master in Public Administration, I am committed to enhancing our community through responsible governance and collaboration.
Support Our Campaign
I will use my four years of LWV Board leadership, 30 years of government experience and master in public administration, MPA, to give back to Laguna Woods through accountable action. My focus will be on collaboration and community enhancement.
Experienced Leadership
Laguna Woods has a distinctive city structure. Most residents live in Laguna Woods Village, a large senior community that is home to about 18,000 of the city’s 20,000 residents. I understand these distinctions and can help residents navigate both municipal and Village-related needs.
Nonpartisan Position
I will represent everyone in Laguna Woods equally. Let me know who else I can speak with to share information on my campaign. I am endorsed by various entities, including the Orange County Firefighters and the Democratic Party of Orange County.
What Will I Accomplish?
Strengthen Collaboration:
I will work to strengthen collaboration between Laguna Woods Village Boards and the City on fire safety, insurance costs, street lighting, water and other shared responsibilities. This will ensure a safer and more efficient community for all residents.
Use New Revenue:
I will use new cannabis tax revenue to maintain and expand services, including subsidized transportation, park improvements and programs for seniors and residents with low incomes. This will enhance the quality of life for our community members.
Advocate for Safety:
I will advocate tirelessly to protect residents’ federal, state, and county safety-net programs. Ensuring access to these programs is crucial for the well-being of our community.
Community Engagement:
I will engage with residents to understand their needs and concerns, ensuring that their voices are heard in city governance. This will foster a more inclusive and responsive local government.
